Deadline April 30th: Santa Fe Workshops Semi-Annual Photography Contest

Santa Fe Photographic Workshops
Semi-Annual Photography Contest: PORTRAITS
Deadline: Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:59 pm MDT
Fee: $40 for 3 images.  $10 for each additional image.

“The portrait. Environmental, studio, candid, or posed. Self or pet, color, black-and-white, alternative process or iPhone. No matter what the genre, there’s a power in a well-captured portrait, a sense of breath and life. A portrait can comfort us, unnerve us, cause us to smile, or move us to tears. Whatever the emotional response, portraits possess the capacity to connect us all through shared encounters.

Our contest is an opportunity to pause and review your photography, then join our international community of photographers and share your portraits with our distinguished judges. The winning images will be featured on Aline Smithson’s Lenscratch blogzine, and the prizes are great. The Grand Prize alone is worth over $5,000!

Jurors
Amber Terranova, Photo Editor, Photo District News (PDN)
Aline Smithson, Photographer, Founder/Editor of Lenscratch blogzine
Andrew Smith, Owner/Director, Andrew Smith Gallery, Inc.

About
“It’s our second ever photo contest, and this time we’re going to the heart of the matter. It’s all about the light. As photographers, capturing it is what we do. Natural, studio, low key, high key, long exposures or explorations in light graffiti—how you see the light is up to you.

Our contest is an opportunity for you to pause and review your photography, then join our international community of photographers and share your photographs with our distinguished judges. Plus, the prizes are great!

BE HONORED BY LEADERS IN THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMMUNITY… AND WIN THE WORKSHOP OF YOUR CHOICE.”
