Frank Yamrus: “In 2007, and after a short respite from taking pictures, I returned to my camera as a way to process my upcoming 50th birthday. My work always had an autobiographical persuasion but in this series I placed myself in the crosshairs of my own camera. Created over six years between my 47th and 53rd birthdays, I used life’s “big” moments— marriage, fatherhood and the loss of loved ones— as cornerstones to understanding my life’s decision but relied on the smaller moments— working in the yard or enjoying cotton candy— to help present a more congruous life. more»
