The Filter Photo Festival in Chicago started today. They have many great workshops, lectures, portfolio reviews and exhibitions planned for the weekend. If you are in the area, you must make it out to some of the festivities if not all. Many lectures are free and open to the public; see the calendar of events for details. Also, there are a few single portfolio reviews still available, click here.
MVS will also be participating in the Festival by leading a panel discussion, participating in the portfolio reviews on Saturday & Sunday, and giving a lecture on Sunday.

The panel discussion will begin after Anthony Bannon’s lecture on Siskind and Callahan which starts at 4:00.

Filter Photo Festival
Portfolio Reviews and Workshop early bird registration has been extended to August 22nd.

Portfolio Reviews: Saturday & Sunday, October 15-16th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Registration is now open; early registration ends August 15, 2011.
“Participants sign up for either 5 or 8 twenty-minute face-to-face reviews and receive candid advice about their work, as well as information on getting their photographs exhibited and published.
All review participants are encouraged to show their work at the Portfolio Walk on Saturday October 15th, from 6pm – 10pm which will take place nearby at the Fine Arts Building following the reviews and will be an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to all of the reviewers, and to your fellow photographers.”
Pricing until August 15th:
5 Reviews – $250
8 Reviews – $350
Pricing after August 15th:
5 Reviews – $275
8 Reviews – $375
Single Reviews – $50 (only available after September 15th)
Single reviews available after October 1st for $25 each
*While you will not be able to select individual reviewers, you will be e-mailed and asked to rank the reviewers you would like to see in order of preference. We will do our best to match you with your top choices.
