In the Era of Instagram: Social Media Strategies for Photo Artists

On Monday evening, October 28th, MVS will give a lecture sponsored by the newly-established Joshua Tree Center for the Photographic Arts. Open to the public.

How many people can you reach by pushing a button? And do the sheer numbers matter, or the people behind the numbers? Are your efforts in having a presence online better served by being “followed” by a broad audience or by posting your archive imagery towards being “found” by curators, art consultants, photo researchers and others searching for specific visual content? Can you successfully have a presence to satisfy both audiences?

In this seminar Mary Virginia Swanson introduces the strategies for using social media platforms to introduce and engage followers with your creative practice and move your career forward.

Seminar is a fundraising event for The Joshua Tree Center for the Photographic Arts. Suggested contribution: $10 – 20

THIS LECTURE IS SOLD OUT; to join the waiting list, email Sant Khalsa, Director, at JoshuaTreePhotoArts@gmail.com.
