To have one’s work displayed on the walls of respected galleries and institutions is a goal for all artists. While presenting portfolios to curators, publishers, gallerists, and photo editors at portfolio review events offers the opportunity to begin relationships, moving beyond making a strong first impression to a shared, meaningful dialogue has no clear road map. In today’s anything-but-simple media maze, how can one connect and establish effective relationships with decisions makers? Is sending print promos considered old-school? Is email too impersonal? Are phone calls appropriate? When does “keeping in touch” become too much?
This lecture is free and open to the public. Reservations are strongly recommended. Please email Filter at Info@filterfestival.com and put the name of the lecture/panel in the subject line. You may reserve up to 2 tickets.
