November 9th, Houston: Opening Reception “Soldier, At Ease”

Houston Center for Photography
Opening Reception: Soldier, At Ease
November 9, 2012, 6:00-8:00 pm, opening remarks at 5:30

“Houston Center for Photography is proud to present the exhibition, Soldier, at Ease. Through the work of Tim Hetherington, Louie Palu, and Erin Trieb, this exhibition will look at how active soldiers spend their private time “at ease,” while they are off duty, and also after they return home. Photographs and videos by these three photographers, as well as images created by active duty soldiers themselves, will illustrate a more personal experience of the solder as an individual.

The exhibition will directly coincide with the encyclopedic exhibition WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY: Images of Armed Conflict and Its Aftermath presented by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which will also include work by Hetherington, Palu, and Trieb. HCP’s exhibition will be on view from November 8, 2012 through January 6, 2013. The exhibition is organized by Executive Director Bevin Bering Dubrowski, Exhibition Coordinator Libbie J. Masterson, and the HCP Exhibitions Committee.”

The exhibition will be up until January 6, 2013.
